The pitch

In Season 5, Episode 4, co-founder and CEO Khaled asked for EGP 5 million for 10%, which values Venduo at EGP 50 million. He said Egypt's garment sector has more than 100,000 factories, workshops and fabric traders, but fewer than 3% have any data online, so brands spend weeks or months looking for the right supplier. Venduo says it has about 12,000 brands and factories and more than EGP 50 million in transactions, without spending on marketing. Revenue comes from factory subscriptions, about EGP 650,000, plus a cost-estimating tool for brands, released days before filming, which brought the total to about EGP 800,000 over two months. He plans to hold payments in escrow until a factory delivers. Khaled said the idea came from his mother's clothing brand, which failed over supply problems, and from his own work in sourcing and ERP. An earlier offer matched the EGP 5 million ask for 30%. Hala El-Kasem then offered the requested EGP 5 million for 10%, and Abdallah Sallam stepped back in her favour. Ayman Abbas offered EGP 10 million for 30%; Khaled countered with EGP 10 million for 20%.
