Helpoo

Overview

Helpoo is a Cairo-based roadside-assistance app founded in 2022 and billed as Egypt's first officially licensed provider of smart roadside help, holding a licence from the Financial Regulatory Authority. Drivers request towing, tyre changes, battery boosts or fuel delivery through the app or the 24/7 hotline 17000, see the price upfront based on distance, and follow the camera-equipped rescue truck live on a map. The app also lets users report an accident to their insurer on the spot. In 2023 Saudi mobility platform Morni invested in Helpoo.

The pitch

Helpoo's founders asked for EGP 40M for 25% of the company, pitching a licensed, tech-enabled roadside-assistance service with live truck tracking and in-app accident reporting. A heated debate followed, with the sharks calling the model traditional, and the founders left without a deal.
