Hawy

Overview

Hawy is a 100% Egyptian youth clothing brand built around T-shirts and casual streetwear, founded and run by three 12-year-old friends: Yassin, Abdullah and Alex. The brand set out to show that young Egyptians can design and sell their own fashion, offering a compact collection of about 11 youth apparel pieces priced at roughly EGP 500–850. After its Shark Tank Egypt appearance the project spread quickly on social media and drew wide press attention.

The pitch

Three 12-year-old founders pitched Hawy, their Egyptian T-shirt brand, in the season-three finale, asking for EGP 100,000 for 20% of the company. Their confidence and ambition won over the panel, and in a rare moment all the sharks joined a single deal to invest in the brand and back the young founders with their expertise.
